Adolescent Plane

The Logic Mind

During adolescence, a profound developmental shift occurs. Children at this age often feel uncomfortable and unsure because their bodies and emotions are changing. As the other classroom environments are separated by developmental stages, the adolescent classroom environment is designed to honor their growing independence, dignity, and a deeper call to community and faith. Doing real, meaningful work helps them feel capable, valued, and connected to their community, and supports their growing independence.

With strong academic support and attentive care for each child’s spiritual and emotional growth, students gain confidence, develop essential skills, and sustain a genuine joy in learning. Building on the foundation established in the Upper Elementary years, the Socratic seminar approach continues in Junior High by deepening critical thinking, strengthening empathy for others, and guiding students to engage thoughtfully and respectfully with others.

The art of public speaking is a natural outcome of the activities, drama and debate, the students regularly engage in through the inspiration of their studies and and growing together as a community, through their student-led community meetings.

Student-Led Leadership

We empower adolescents to take on significant leadership roles, acting as mentors to younger students, and organizers for various school events and trips.

Practical Life Work

Students engage in meaningful, real-world experiences that support independence, responsibility, and dignity. Students have the opportunity to learn leatherworks, knitting, crocheting, and soon wood working and sewing.

Small Business Venture

By developing a business plan, managing, and appointing roles in a small business, students build relationships, learn the value of honest work and service, and contribute to their school community. Through this work, they grow in confidence and in their understanding of how their gifts can be used to serve others and help build the Kingdom of God.
