Science Curriculum

Grades 4th - 6th

The five great lessons, first presented in Lower Elementary, serve as the foundation to our Upper Elementary Science curriculum. The lessons provide the sense of wonder which then serves as a springboard to take the students deeper into answering questions through the scientific method.

Science is the process of seeking knowledge of truth and order in the universe. As one of civilization’s major intellectual achievements, science is fueled by the same creativity required of art, music, and literature. Strong scientific inquiry relies on curiosity, objectivity, and healthy questioning.

Students conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings . Topics include life, earth, space, and physical sciences.

Grades 7th - 8th

Students build on foundational concepts with deeper study in chemistry, physics, biology, and earth sciences. Students explore:

  • Chemistry: Atomic structure, periodic table, chemical reactions.

  • Physics: Laws of motion, gravity, energy transformation, and work efficiency.

  • Biology: Cell structure, genetics, ecosystems, human anatomy, and physiology.
